For the holiday season,
help a young person reconnect.

Put yourself in Pablo’s shoes for a moment.

Pablo is 12 years old. When he comes home from school, he sits alone in his room. He doesn’t have anything to do. He is bored.

Social isolation. No financial resources to participate in activities. No male figure in his entourage.

And adding to it, Pablo has academic challenges, he is being bullied at school and he has self-esteem issues.

Can you imagine? It’s an explosive mix that could have led Pablo to cut himself off completely and
reinforce the prejudice that all at-risk youth end up as delinquents.

Offer them a welcoming place to forget about their problems and get the help they need.

It’s hard for a young person like Pablo to not give up when they are struggling.

Make a donation before December 31, and help one of our youth complete their school year before their problems get even bigger.

Help them stay in school and graduate.
Help them participate in activities that they would otherwise not be able to access.
Help them gain healthy habits that they will keep forever.
Their names are Victor, Simon, Emma, Logan, Youssef, Alicia...
They are some of the hundreds of young people who come to the YMCA several times a week.
Their life paths are different, yet each one is full of challenges.

Thanks to your generosity, the YMCA team is there for all of these young people, every day.
Through the attentive and caring presence of a mentor, youth worker, counsellor or volunteer.
Someone who listens to them. Someone who supports them. Someone who gets them to try new things.

According to their interests and at their own pace.
*This is a real story. The participant’s name has been changed to protect their anonymity.
